Hey friends!

I apologize for being MIA last month. The busiest time of the school year for ministry is now over and now I get the chance to update you on all of the cool things that are going on at Richland. Be prepared for lots of pictures!

Our Cores

Cores are our ministries small groups that meet throughout the week on the Richland campus. In core we study the Bible, build deep relationships, and invite students from our campus to come join us. This year I get to lead with one of my favorite girls Kobloh-Obase or KB for short. :) This is KB’s first year leading in any sort of ministry role but you wouldn’t even know if you saw her lead, she is such a natural! KB is so good at reaching out to people, making them feel loved, and she is just so fun. I love getting to co-lead core with her. We are a few weeks into core and it’s so exciting getting to see friendships being formed. The girls come each week ready to talk about Jesus and share their lives with another. We usually tend to start late or go over because we have a bunch of talkers. It’s always so encouraging when relationships are built without little to no effort from the leaders.

This year, we have two women’s core and two men’s core! Pray for the ladies and gents that are part of our cores, pray that our cores continue being a place where students come to learn about Jesus, a place where they feel comfortable asking questions, a place where they come and feel loved and give love.

Fall Camp

This past month we had our annual Fall Camp at Mt. Lebanon. This is the second year that Richland gets to do camp solo. So you could say Sirak (my co-worker at Richland) and I are still trying to figure out what all goes into planning a camp. THANKFULLY, we survived, our students didn’t starve for the weekend and they made it home safely. Our theme for the weekend was being Steadfast in our Suffering. Throughout the weekend our students opened up their hearts and stories to the group. Each of their stories were so powerful and it brought our ministry so much closer!

Thursday Night Thunder

Our weekly fellowship nights have been one of my favorite parts of ministry at Richland. The room we met last year was converted into a staff lounge this summer and so knowing that wasn’t an option for the Fall was a bit stressful. Especially, since we had been told that getting a big room on campus that could fit more than 40 people would be impossible. God worked out the room situation and we are in a bigger room in one of the busiest buildings on campus! God is so good to us! I love Thursday nights because I get to see our students worship our God together, they are engaged (taking notes, sharing thoughts, verbally responding) during our sermons. Weekly, our Richland staff talks about how fun, easy, and SWEET our students are.

Prayer Requests
The Fall semester is moving quickly, please join me in prayer for these things.
  • Pray for the students I meet weekly to study the Bible. That the Spirit continues to move through our times together and we continue growing in our love and knowledge of scripture.
  • Pray for core, all four of them! For our students to continue to be consistent but for them to also be outreaching in continuing to invite their peers to group.
  • Pray for Winter Camp funding. We are currently in the process of requesting for money to help fund students for Winter Camp. Camp is $150 per student! Pray for the Richland staff that will be deciding if we get money and how much we get. I’m praying we get $5000 to help send our whole ministry to camp next January.
  • Pray for our Thursday Night Thunder meetings, we are finishing up a series on Hearing from God and will be starting a series on Ephesians. Pray that God will speak through our sermons and worship.

Thank you so much team for everything you do for me and for the Richland community. These stories and updates wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for your faithfulness and investment in campus ministry. Please let me know how I can be praying for you!

With Love,

This is KB! I love leading core with her.
Some of the girls from core. :)
A silly Richland Camp group picture.
Dinner at Fall Camp. One of the blessings of being a smaller ministry is that we can all squish in to sit together for dinner.
The Thursday Night Thunder crew!
Our Dallas staff headed to the State Fair together.
The Bible Project guys came into town for a free event and I got to go. If you don't know who these guys are I encourage you to take a listen. They have taught me so much about God and given me so many tools to better understand the scriptures. Take a look at their videos here or checkout their podcast here.
