My friends,

The fall semester is just around the corner! Soon so many freshman and transfer students will be stepping onto to the UTD and Richland campus for the first time. Our staff is so excited to get the school year started and we are currently working on building our student leader team for the 2017-2018 school year. The students on leader team volunteer 15+ hours to campus ministry - leading small groups, having 1:1 bible studies and doing outreach on campus. Be praying as we put together our leader team and pray for a restful summer because the first couple of weeks of school will be very busy and exhausting!

Summer Focus

Every Thursday night this summer all of our FOCUS ministries come together to worship, learn, and fellowship together. This summer the staff have been preaching sermons on relating to God and I am just blown away by all the great ministers I get to call my co-workers. This past week Brandon delivered a message on loving the word of God. I was so challenged to look at my personal relationship with the scriptures, how I approach them and apply them to my ministry.  I would encourage you to give this sermon a listen and the past ones as well. You can find them here. We only have a few summer meetings left for the semester be praying for our last few meetings of the summer.

I am currently at about 80% of my fundraising goal, please be in prayer for this and that I get to 100% by the end of summer. I'm so thankful for your generosity that you have shown me. If you know of anyone that would be interested in getting a ministry support letter please let me know!

I’m so excited to get to do full-time ministry at UTD and Richland for the next year. Thank you so much for investing in this mission and for all of your prayers. I’m so pumped for next school year and for the lives of students that will be changed through campus ministry!

Love you guys!

Your Campus Missionary,

Sandra Salvador

Ismael is one of the sweetest people I know, I hope his story is an encouragement to you.

Hey friends!

I apologize for being MIA last month. The busiest time of the school year for ministry is now over and now I get the chance to update you on all of the cool things that are going on at Richland. Be prepared for lots of pictures!

Our Cores

Cores are our ministries small groups that meet throughout the week on the Richland campus. In core we study the Bible, build deep relationships, and invite students from our campus to come join us. This year I get to lead with one of my favorite girls Kobloh-Obase or KB for short. :) This is KB’s first year leading in any sort of ministry role but you wouldn’t even know if you saw her lead, she is such a natural! KB is so good at reaching out to people, making them feel loved, and she is just so fun. I love getting to co-lead core with her. We are a few weeks into core and it’s so exciting getting to see friendships being formed. The girls come each week ready to talk about Jesus and share their lives with another. We usually tend to star…
Hey team!I can’t believe the school year is officially over. What a year! This past week has been full of end of the year festivities, encouragements, and even some tears. As I reflect back on the past school year, God has been so sweet to me and our ministries. This year has been one of tremendous growth for our staff, our leader team, and our student body.
I asked three Richland ladies the following “How has God been faithful to you this school year?” I was so encouraged by their responses that I wanted to share them with you! Side note: They were so excited to be featured in this months ministry blog. This is Reni! I get to meet with Reni weekly to study the Bible. She is a deep-thinker, honest, and has such a hunger to get to know more of Jesus. She is also an amazing singer!
“God has been so faithful to me this school year. He has always been with me but starting college I never felt more blessed in my relationships with my professors and companions and even my school work. God has…
Hey friends! I can't believe we are only a few days away from the first day of school! This summer has been great and all but I am definitely SO ready to be back on campus a lot more and I’m especially excited to meet new students. We still have so much to do as a team before classes begin. In the next few days we will be nailing down our student leader team for both Richland and TWU Dallas. We have so many great students that we are considering for leadership this year and being a corefa is a big commitment, pray for the staff as we have these final conversations but also for the students as they consider whether to lead for the school year or not.
GO THUNDERDUCKS! The first week of school at Richland College we are on campus five days away for long hours meeting students, playing games, telling them about our ministry, setting up time with those students throughout the week and it can be a long and exhausting week. Every year is the same and every year I forget to spend time pra…
